Older people

We have two key initiatives that focus on supporting older people locally. These are the Link Visiting Scheme and Inside Out Community Drop-In.

The Link Visiting Scheme

This is a befriending scheme offered to those in the community who are isolated. The scheme was started in December 1998 and we have visited over 150 residents in Woodley since that time. Visits are carried out by volunteers mainly from local churches and take place for around one hour once every week or fortnight. The scheme began to be expanded across the Wokingham Borough area during 2007 as a result of partnerships with other churches. For more information please go to the Link Visiting Scheme website.

Inside Out Community Drop-In
